Don’t Wait For 2022 To Start Exercising

Use December to kickstart your new year plan

As we enter the final month of the year, many people begin to shut down and put their ambitions for better fitness and nutrition on hold until the new year.

Attention switches to attending Christmas parties, buying gifts, planning the festive season celebrations and travel. Well, at least that’s what we used to do before COVID-19, 2021 might be a bit different.

The reality is that the festive season slow down is the equivalent of ‘starting to eat better and exercise on Monday’ on a grand scale, and I’m guilty of doing it in both my personal and professional life.

Up until two years ago, I stopped onboarding new clients in the final six weeks of the year. I thought that people wouldn’t be able to achieve a lot before Christmas, so they may as well commence coaching in the new year when we can work without any festive season disruptions.

But in 2019, I took on clients during this window and since then, I’ve found there is plenty of work we can achieve at the end of the year that benefits people in the new year.
