The future of fitness is user-led

While catching up with a mate for lunch in July, I mentioned crypto as a joke when discussing investments. To my surprise, he told me that he was invested in crypto and as he explained his reasoning, it was clear he knew a lot about the space.

I left lunch thinking that maybe I was wrong about crypto and I should learn more about it. He’s a really smart guy and I was intrigued by his thoughts, which also made a lot of sense to me.

A few days later, I found myself in another lockdown and unable to leave the house to go to the gym, work or catch up with friends. So I used this time to go deep on crypto, blockchain and web 3.0.

At first, it was mostly about bitcoin and the use of cryptocurrency as digital money. While I still don’t understand the technology underpinning Bitcoin, it’s built on strong principles and has built an incredible community around it.

As I learned about different projects and protocols, I began to see a bigger picture and the impact web 3.0 could have. It wasn’t just nerds trading laundry tokens on the internet, there was an entire ecosystem being developed here.
