My opinion is both exercise and nutrition are important for controlling energy balance, which is vital for managing body composition. I agree that what and how much we eat are very important, but I tend to look at this through the lens of the energy balance hypothesis. I know that not everyone uses that approach, but what we all tend to agree on is that doing more exercise and making better food choices is the place to start, even if we disagree on how it works.
