Simplifying Nutrition Advice

The abundance of seemingly contradictory advice can make nutrition seem overwhelming for many people.

Should you eat low carbs, no carbs, or somewhere in between?

Is breakfast the most important day or was that a cunning ploy by marketers to make us buy more cereal, and in fact, we should fast until lunchtime?

I understand how this overwhelm makes it difficult to commit to a strategy, and without a strategy, there is nothing to implement.

Gary Keller and Jay Papasan wrote a great book called The One Thing that I read back in 2015 when I was just getting into business. It helped me to clarify what was the most important task or component of a task or project and then focus on achieving that to drive the business forward.

In his book Tools of Titans, Tim Ferriss describes how it came upon him to think what ‘would this look like if it was simple?’ when it came to taking on the challenge of creating the new book.

We often get caught up in wanting to look like experts, so we describe things in a complex manner. While we might understand what we are saying, or at least what we are trying to say, people who don’t have our expertise might not get the nuance or have a clear takeaway from the message.
