Three Reasons I Left a Comment on Your Article
I frequently wrote on Medium during early 2020 and was lucky enough to get plenty of views on my work, to the point that I became a top writer in the Health and the Fitness categories. But I only wrote articles and spent less time reading others work.
After coming back to writing on Medium in late 2021, I’ve found myself taking a different approach to my time on Medium. I only write a couple of articles each week, but I’m spending more time reading other people’s work and leaving comments.
I’ve always found it hard to determine the threshold for leaving a comment. However, after many experiences with people trying to promote their product and ideology disagreeing with anything that wasn’t their opinion, I began to see the comment field as a cheap marketing tactic that I wanted to avoid.
However, I’ve made a concerted effort to leave a comment on work that I enjoy, and I’ve developed somewhat of a framework for deciding to comment or not.
So if you ever find that I left a comment on your work, here are the three reasons I did it.
